Magnetic Resonance Imaging
utilizes radio-frequency radiation in the presence of a high
magnetic field to produce high-quality images of the body
in any plane. The nucleus of any atom with an odd number
of protons and neutrons behave like a weak magnet in that
they align themselves with this strong magnetic field. Sophisticated
computer programs can then produce an image. MRI is
an extensively used diagnostic tool since it is a noninvasive
technique that does not use radiation. MRI is without
significant health hazard.
Our Open MRI systems are the most advanced
MRI imagers available in the world utilizing a remarkable
new magnet technology in place of the less contemporary
"tunnel type" systems. Our magnets' design provide high-quality, clinical diagnostic images
with the added benefit of superior patient comfort.
All of the most current MRI procedures are comfortably performed
with our systems for all patients, including large,
and/or claustrophobic patients.
Children can also receive imaging services accompanied by
their parent so that in many instances, sedation can be
reduced or eliminated.
